My Deviantart Story [Lots of text and old work]

Since I've seen so many today. This will feature lots of my old work since this is my story.

I first joined Deviantart when I was about 13 or 14 years old. At the time I joined it so I could look at all the fanart of anime that I watched at the time. At the time I had a different account which I held onto for about three years I think? Then I decided it was time for a change. 

I didn't draw much at first when I joined DA, though I created an OC and made a story about her eventually. Her name was Eliera, I did her no glory when I first started drawing her. I would draw her most of the time since she was my only OC for the time being.  I didn't have a graphics tablet back then so I was drawing pictures like this with bad colouring:

 



I'd sketch and draw a hell of a lot! There was a stage where I was into Inuyasha and I would write fanfiction and draw picture of Sesshomaru and Kagome since it became my favourite pairing.





Then after a while my weeaboo phase calmed downand I was at a loss for what to draw so I entered random contests and made more OCs

 I actually made an attempt at backgrounds too hahaha



I think around year 8 to year 9 I started to get really depressed, I wouldn't talk to a lot of people but I would draw a fuck tonne. I'd get into angry moods and listen to music so loud it hurt my ears. I also joined an RP forum around then because I was worried for my friend. I spent a year on there before I got sick of all the drama and just ended up more depressed. Around that time Elian was made but back then she went by my nickname on the forum which was Ely because my username was Neko_Ely I didn't want to get rid of her so I made a different character type for her and changed her design.

When I was in year 10 I made my new account and I got my graphics tablet later on in the year. First the account was called Black-Butterfly-E and now I've changed it to CosmicButterflies. The first pieces of digital work I did in 2012 would have been something like this:

         


I was new to trying to learn how to do things digitally, it was hard for me at first since I was so used to drawing with pencils. I had no idea what layer settings were or how to use them when I started off with SAI. But as 2013 rolled around I started to draw more and I was determined to become better. By this stage as well I had a lot more OCs and was more interested in drawing them. Making my own characters, choosing their destiny and such was so much fun to me. I loved drawing my OCs and other peoples OCs. As the year went on I got better at anatomy. I apologise for all the images here I had so many in my 2013 folder!


                 
   

On the side I was doing pencil drawings as well still. I never showed you guys these but by the end of the year I was drawing this for some friends

 


I even started to get a little back into fanart with Supernatural. The simple difference between drawing fem!Destiel in one year surprises me!

2013 was really my year to start improving my art. in 2014 I started feeling happier about the work I produced. Or I'm definately feelin it now~
I would start things and stop halfway through like my 7 deadly sins thing uwu; I'll do it eventually! I swear! x]

         


Finally I'm producing work like this which I love to do even though I still can't draw hands, feet or two eyes properly sometimes!

Along this journey of mine I've made so many wonderful friends and met amazing people who I admire. Listed in no order of people who are my friends and that I admire uwu some people made new accounts and I wasn't sure if they wanted them listed. if I listed you and you don't want your account up here for prying eyes then tell me and I'll take it down uwu ahh I probably missed half a dozen people orz. I've watched some of them for a long time and watched how their art has grown and I am always amazed by the things they produce even if I don't comment all the time! Keep up the hard work all of you!  I want to feature a lot of their work but I think this journal is long enough as it is ><

Sorry about all the text and spam and stuff here, I'm trying to keep my mind off the funeral I attended yesterday. Also the amount of images here are because I'm proud with how much I've improved ehehe
